A part new build extension and refurbishment of the existing GP surgery, to accommodate greater GP facilities and dental services, together with a new pharmacy and private medical services.

PMP Group were appointed after selection by the Practice and PCT for a “GP led” development, this involved purchasing the existing surgery form the PCT, construction temporary accommodation within the car park and moving in the majority of the surgeries facilities, before demolishing the rear of the existing surgery and constructing a new two storey structure together with the refurbishment of the retained structure. Health and safety issues to allow the practice to continue delivering services during this time were complex but achieved by PMP and the practice moved back into the building on a two stage phased basis, the new pharmacy was also used as temporary accommodation during the overall works.

The practice decided to take extra spaces within which to deliver Pbc services outside the GMS areas.

Build period – 12 months including temporary accommodation
Total area – 1,400 sq.m over two floors
